What size scissor lift do I need?
A quick guide to choosing the right Genie — by working height, width, and where the job is.
Scissor lifts are sized by platform height (how high the deck goes) but you actually work about 6 ft higher than that — that’s your working height. Start there.
Match height to the job
| Platform | Working height | Genie model |
|---|---|---|
| 19 ft | ~25 ft | GS-1930 |
| 26 ft | ~32 ft | GS-2632 / GS-2646 |
| 32 ft | ~38 ft | GS-3232 / GS-3246 |
| 40 ft | ~46 ft | GS-4047 |
Then check access and width
Where does the lift need to go? A narrow lift like the GS-1930 is just 30 inches wide and fits through a standard single doorway. Narrow 26 and 32 ft models (GS-2632, GS-3232) stay 32 inches wide for tight aisles. Wide-deck models (GS-2646, GS-3246) trade width for more platform room and capacity.
Capacity: one worker or two?
- 500 lb narrow decks handle one worker plus tools.
- 700–1,000 lb wide decks handle two workers and materials.
Indoor or outdoor?
All the Genie GS & GR electric lifts here are built for indoor, finished floors — quiet, zero-emission, non-marking. For rough outdoor terrain you’d want a rough-terrain lift; ask Win Win and we’ll point you right.
